The first German Shorthaired Pointers (GSP's) imported to the United States, early last century, were as the breed’s originators had made them, dogs for following on foot, capable on feather or on fur and able to retrieve from land or water. Such are our breeding goals at Mustang Creek Kennels while keeping a discipline on maintaining the breed Standard.

We believe our GSP’s are versatile all-purpose dogs perfectly capable of being a fine family companion, personal hunting dog or competitor in the field and ring. Their biddable intelligence and loyal personalities combined with excellent natural ability and hunting instincts will provide a dog you are happy to own.

Our breeding program focus is to enhance these qualities. By select breeding (typically outcross) of our American and Danish bloodlines we are able to produce dogs that will succeed in these endeavors.

Eleven years after our first GSP and the accumulation of several more we knew that we had made a life long decision about this breed and started Mustang Creek Kennels. We are active, both as participants and judging, in the AKC Hunting Test program with all of our GSP’s. We participate in the show ring and have an eye on that discipline as well.
